NSW: Five teenagers hurt in car crash
Five teenagers have been seriously injured in a car crash in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney.
Police say one person was thrown from the red Ford Laser while the others were trapped
for more than an hour after the car hit a tree at Winmallee about 11.30pm (AEST) last
night.
The driver, a 16-year-old girl, is in a critical condition in Nepean Hospital with
leg and abdominal injuries.
Another 16-year-old girl was flown to Westmead Hospital by the CareFlight Helicopter
in a critical condition.
A male in the front seat suffered head and chest injuries, a male in the back seat
has major facial and chest injuries and a third male's arm was broken when he was thrown
from the car.
It's believed all the passengers were aged 16 to 18 years.
